Mount Olive is committed to "sharing Christ and serving the community." We believe that when we show love, compassion, grace, and forgiveness to others we are sharing the love of Christ with others. We also believe that God is active through the many ministries within our community; therefore, we aim to educate ourselves about these resources that we may serve our community through them. We are committed to growing in our knowledge of God so that we do not grow weary or are misled by false teaching (2 Peter 3:17-18).
We believe that salvation comes to us through Christ's sacrifice alone. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" Ephesians 2:8-10. Therefore, we serve our Lord out of love for Him and our thankfulness for His great sacrifice.
We are a Lutheran Missouri Synod congregation. We believe that The Word of God demands that a Christian congregation conforms to the Word of God in doctrine and practice (Psalm 119, 105; Galatians 1:6-8; Matthew 28:19-20; 2 Timothy 4:1-5). It is essential that all things be done decently and in order (1 Corinthians 14:40); so that we may publicly worship the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is also essential that the Word of God be preached among us in its purity and truth and His Sacraments administered according to their institution by our Lord, Jesus Christ, that we may fulfill our Lord's command to preach the gospel to all nations. The Lord's Supper is distributed on the 1st and 4th Sunday of each month. We believe that the Lord is present in and through the wine and bread as He states in Matthew 26:26-29.
We invite you to join us for worship on Sundays at 10:00 am. We would love to meet you! We hope and pray that the Lord lead you to the congregation where you will experience growing in the knowledge of your Savior. If you are seeking a deeper relationship with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ and a more passionate relationship with the Triune God, then we hope to help you in this pursuit through bible study, worship, fellowship opportunities, and a small group setting.
